This primary bedroom design began with a wild inquiry: could the space capture the feeling inside a Himalayan salt lamp? Its rich, tonal color scheme is accented by textural elements such as the abstract wall art and a subtle, checkered rug. Vintage lamps add to a layered aesthetic defined by a mix of new and old.

A touch of tradition was the theme for our redesign of this expansive primary bedroom in a treasured family home on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Spaces for rest, work and play are curated with a blend of modern and vintage pieces, including family heirlooms collected on the property. An installation of earthenware plates hand-painted in breezy blue hues are arranged in a contemporary silhouette, bringing modernity to the space while also giving a nod to the traditional aesthetic of the Eastern Shore.

A muted color palette is juxtaposed with layers of rich materials, patterns, and textures that breathe life into this primary suite while enhancing the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.
